I’m Back Bitches…

IT HAS BEEN FAR TOO LONG! I am finally making my big comeback to the blogging scene. I’m so thankful for those of you who are still following me and to the new people who have decided to hop on board since I’ve been on hiatus. I took way too long of a break thanks to my *mental health*, but here I am and I’m better than ever. I’m a published short story writer, I’ve got a new job, and I am thriving! I am so excited to get right back to it! Stay tuned because I. WILL. BE. POSTING.

Exciting News!!!

Hey all!

I have been absent for quite some time now and it has allowed me to focus on my fiction writing. Well I have spectacular news!

One of my short stories are going to be published by Scare Street! 🥳

Some of the details are still pending, but you’ll be able to find my story very soon! Keep an eye out for more info!

Hiatus

Dear wonderful, amazing, beautiful followers,

I am so glad that you all still follow me and have been so loyal. The last few months have been a difficult adjustment for me. I went form being able to blog every day, because I was a stay at home mom and then COVID hit, but now that I’m working again I’ve had a really hard time adjusting to doing both. It’s a struggle to find time to read anymore, thus I can’t pump out the same fun content that I used to. My work/life balance is out of whack. But, I don’t want you guys to worry. I also have good news! I have been sending out manuscripts for a short story that I wrote, fingers crossed that someone will pick it up. On top of that, I came up with an idea for a YA Fantasy book. So I am still writing, just not on the blogging platform currently.

I’m not going to lie to you all. I am not sure when exactly I’ll jump back into my blogging, but I’m going to take a hiatus and post here when I have something to review or discuss. So no definite posting schedule at this time.

I’ll be back for you guys as soon as I have something interesting to discuss.

All my love,

Sav

I’m safe from the fires

Hey everyone.

I just wanted to drop in and let you all know that I’m safe, my family is safe, and our houses are likely going to be fine. The fires are still active but they are no longer heading in our direction. I’m not entirely sure if this is correct but I saw where someone said that the fires are mostly hot spots that keep reactivating.

It has been really hard to get any factual information on the fires because misinformation was the only thing spreading quicker than the wildfire. Supposedly the fire was human caused. Not to mention the other fires along I-5 in Oregon were supposedly caused by people throwing Molotovs out of their car. The major news stations aren’t really covering the crisis here and it’s unfortunate. So I can’t give you all very much info because I don’t want to be spreading any falsehoods.

This will likely be my last fire update, unless something drastic happens. Thank you for sticking with me and for all the kind words I’ve received.

I intend to resume business as usual on my blog this coming week. I’ve started reading I Am Legend and it’s a wild one. I can’t wait to talk to you all about it.

Fire Update 9/10/20

Hey everyone!

So some positive news. The air is gaining some moisture and our fire district thinks the outcome is going to be positive. As of yesterday evening the fire had slowed a bit and we still haven’t entered any phase of evacuation in my hometown.

My dad is actually the mayor of my hometown so I spent a few hours volunteering with him. We’re taking in evacuees from neighboring towns, so I helped him get that squared away and I’ve been spreading resources on my Facebook page.

The biggest concern is that the wind will blow the fire in our direction. So I’m just hoping those of you reading this can send us some positive vibes, prayers, or whatever it is you do in times of need. We could use it, and we would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you all for being such awesome people, and thank you for the positive words yesterday. It’s been scary but we’re doing our best. Our house is full of family and we’re trying to celebrate life even in this sad time. We consider ourselves lucky that none of us have died in the fires, not everyone is so fortunate. We’re trying to remind ourselves that items can be replaced, but family cannot.

Again, thank you all. I’ll update again soon.

Life & Blog Update

Hey everyone!

Sorry I’ve been so quiet. I’ve had a lot of stuff going on and I just needed a break. I’ve always tried to stress how important mental health is when I give advice about blogging, and I’ve just been stretching myself too thin. Last week was wild. I got sick, not with COVID, there was family drama, and I just felt so busy. It was hard for my brain to function and I needed to step back for a little while.

I’m going to try and get back into the swing of things this week, but please forgive me if I don’t get all of my regular posts out the next few weeks. I promise I’m not abandoning all of you wonderful people. I just needed some time alone.

Thank you for understanding and sticking by my side.

Posting Schedule Update

Hello everyone!

I’ve come to the conclusion that my noon posting schedule just isn’t going to work. I write most of my blog posts the day-of because I could get away with that when I wasn’t working, but now that i’m working it’s just not plausible. So *drumroll* I’m changing my time to 1 PM PDT. Yes, I know, not a big change. But, this will put a little bit less stress on me, and hopefully I can pump out my posts during my lunch.

So, I’ll see you all tomorrow where I will be revisiting The Titan’s Curse, the third book in the Percy Jackson series.

Goals August 2020!

I didn’t hit all of my goals for last month, but considering I started a new full time job I don’t think I did too bad. I was about 200 followers shy of my 1,000 increase. So this month I’m going to put my total follower goal at 4,500.

I’m also going to try and put out at least one book review a week and keep with my Movie Review Monday.

My biggest goal is to be kind to myself, because I’m still adjusting to a new job, I have a 1 1/2 year old, and I’m trying to keep up with my nearly daily blog schedule. That’s a lot of stuff to juggle.

Thanks to all my wonderful followers as usual. Interacting with you all makes it worth every second.

I submitted a manuscript!

I was talking about this a month or two ago and I finally built up the courage to turn my short story into a manuscript.

Usually we talk about already published works but I’m pretty excited about this. I spent all of my downtime today working on the manuscript and I submitted it about ten minutes ago! Fingers crossed everyone, I’m pretty proud of this particular piece of fiction.

Have a good evening everyone ❤️

July Goals and Awesome Announcement!

I almost forgot to do my July goals! Also I’m excited to say that I’ve been hired to be the receptionist at an addiction counseling clinic. Due to this awesome life development I’m going to take it easy on my goals so that I’m not overwhelming myself. Here are my goals:

  • Post 6 days a week still, but not to feel disappointed if I miss a day here and there because of my new job.
  • Get to 4,000 followers. I’m at about 3,500 right now so I’m not too far off!
  • Read at least a book a week, but shoot for two, while keeping in mind my first goal.

So there we have it! My goals for July. What are your goals this month? Let me know in the comments.
